Back to Negative. Again!
This situation of crisis has led this country to utter chaos and disappointment! The scenario went from scary to panicky, within months. The end of 2019 brought a major setback for the year 2020 and the problems prolonged to 2021 as well. It’s the inefficiency of the government which has led the country to face this turmoil today.
The basic traits of human beings are never easily
changeable. It is indeed true what ‘Tulsi Das’ writes in his epic ‘Ramacharit
Manas’, “jako prabhu darun dukh dahin, taki mati Pehle hi harlehin!” (जाकोप्रभुदारुणदुखदेही, ताकीमतिपहलेहरलेही) So is the case with our government. The results were
apparent when the imprudent ruler of one particular state was given the charge
of the whole nation. When, in a country, the suggestion is construed as
obstruction, the working women with a kid is questioned on her choice of
clothes, profession and even husband by a “Chief Minister”, a raped girl is cremated
without the presence of her family members, the distinction among the Hindu, Muslim
or Sikh is not made just on the basis of religion but, due to fanaticism or
rather fascism and rashtravad becomes a major goal, then the citizens
must question the brutal system.
You can feel the lack of oxygen in the country by not
being in a critical condition but also whilst sitting at home. India’s strength
in terms of ethics, political will and economic development and lately in the
healthcare system is completely exposed now. Is it ethical on the part of the government to
focus more on building a new parliament house or a new temple for Lord Rama
rather than looking into the issues of utmost national interest such as protest
against the Agro-bills or dealing with the pandemic? The government has kept a
fund of 35,000 crores to be spent on the vaccines. Or to be put simply the
funds were kept aside to fill the industrialist’s greed at the cost of humanity.
Shouldn’t the focus be on spending the PM Care Fund on research and development
of vaccine in public sector rather than turning the youth into fanatics from
normal human beings? Should the healthcare sector remain so badly managed even
after spending 1.26% (according to the manipulated data- 2.5%) of GDP on it?
If the media does not put these questions, then who else
will? Instead of providing solution to these burning issues they are bent upon
making India the Hindu Rashtra. We, the countrymen, need answers. If the
government is so blind to even consider these questions, then maybe it’s time
to rethink over our decision about electing dictators rather than public
servants. Let us think over on who brought us back to negative!!

ReplyDeleteNicely written. Just to add, one should also study politics intertwined with economy, and not isolate these two. Then one will note that the public sector healthcare is being slowly handed over to profit-hungry corporates. Polio was eradicated by a very intensive campaigning by the public health sector, so that everyone could access it. On the other hand, COVID management has been put in the hands of the private sector, thus excluding a large portion of the population from accessing the facilities. At the end of the day, capitalism = maximising the profit.
